Rated 5 out of 5 by BigRed from Love It! I've been using Wella Color Charm for over 30 years. I've been a bit of an experimenter maybe because I have a Fine Arts degree. I've had different shades of red over the years either with one product or a combination of two. I've read some reviews and many people don't put into account the temperature of the room and one's head which can give different results (its chemistry remember). I now use burgundy exclusively. Yes, sometimes the color of the liquid looks different or darker - again, where stored and the heat level, but always get the same results. I, however, apply to the scalp first and then massage it into my hair as a shampoo or conditioner. I use 30 volume creme developer for 22 minutes. Voila, the pixie dust is gone, but the color is great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Robinornot from Qu Quality control I started using only Wella products about 4 years ago. It was introduced and suggested to me by a hair stylist who used to dye my hair. At that time, it was only possible to purchase individual components and the boxed product became available about a year ago. I have been buying the boxed product and doing myself since then. In the past month I have purchased and used 3 boxes. Same color as always; however, not the same results. The first one turned my roots purple. The second box also turned purple in the bowl so I didn't try to use it. The third didn't turn purple so I applied it. I am not too sure what I would call this color but it is not a color that I want to have on my head or anything like what is on the box. Is this the quality of product which I can expect in Mexico or is this type of thing happening elsewhere????

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kelly from Color is not as described! I bought 4A / 237 Medium Ash Brown to darken my brassy faded hair. And it is DARK. It almost looks black in artificial light and not even close to medium brown in natural light. I left it on for 30 minutes as instructed and my hair is so dark from it. I don’t have anything against dark hair, but I did not have my hair bleached twice to get a color that looks almost like my natural hair color. I’m highly disappointed. Go lighter than you think you need to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lucky2B from Call 911 for Awesome Gold Color! My new #1 fave is Color Charm 911/9N Very Light Blonde. I now have the much-wanted Antique Gold blonde so in vogue. (And my hair's naturally blue-black.) Love the fragrance, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lauren from Bring back my old 911! I have used the 911 for years and loved it. Then it changed to 9N, still good. My most recent purchase was of 9NN. There were no other options in the 9 series so I assumed (silly me) that this was again a label change, not a product change. Product looked different coming out of the bottle and I now have light orange hair! Yuck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disgusted from Intense colors turn hair red! Extremely unhappy- tried to do hair using the Intense Medium Blonde - nightmare. I added a few drop of the violet additive to combat brassiness- there should have been ZERO problems. Instead, bright red! Wella products are generally great but this is a complete disaster, get this product off the shelves.

With the rich color tones, gentle formula and 1:2 ratio, it is unbeatable. You can use as much as you need and save the rest for your next coloring. ❤️ Thank you Wella! ❤️

Rated 1 out of 5 by kandbs from WAY Too Dark! I had been using L'Oreal, but tried Wella based on suggestion from Sally Beauty. The color was WAY too dark for me, even though it was supposed to be the same color I'd been using for years from the other brand. I will never use Wella again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jennifer H from Dark Blonde Intense Ash turned my hair RED!!! I have naturally dark ash blonde hair with a few grays here and there. I've had my hair colored and highlighted some in the past, and fell in love with Wella Tango 2P over a year ago. My hair stylist has been slowly getting me back to my natural color. The brass was bothering me, not going away with special shampoo, and I thought the last set of highlights were too light, so I researched colors and got Wella Charm Gel 6AA/542 Dark Blonde Intense Ash. Much to my dismay, it turned my hair red! I look like a ginger kid! I would attempt to fix it myself, but how do I trust a product now? I would expect this from something at the grocery store. Guess I'm back to salon hair color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anne76 from Absolutely despise this color product! In short, the most noxious chemical odor I've ever experienced in either salon or at home coloring, and it won't leave my hair. I had my colorist put 5N and 5NB AND use a green toner to kick out the red in my hair and it is back like a vengeance. This isn't the kind of staying power I want, especially when I didn't like the color result of the red. I used 1/2 8RG, a few drops of 7R, and 1/2 8G, and I can't get the red and gold out of my hair. I'm almost certain my colorist is going to have to process twice as she did 5 weeks ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anjelica from Great The application of this bleach was easy. I was honestly surprised because my hair was really dark before I bleached it. I’ve never had results like this with a store bought bleach my hair is really course and usually my hair doesn’t bleach well. This bleach did a pretty good job it is a little patchy because it did bring out the previous colors that I had in my hair but It looked good once I put the color i wanted in my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Angela from Great product I used to go to the salon or resort to store bought products to do my own hair but i tried using wells color charm a few months ago. My hair was lightened and it brought my hair back to its original dark ash blonde leaving natural looking highlights and covering my grays. I am very pleased with this product. Everyone thinks my hair is natural now you can’t even tell it’s been dyed and it’s very soft and healthy. Also the product was very affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Millie from Old Faithful I have been coloring my hair myself for 20 years and I always use the same color. I have never had a problem with the coverage or the color. What I like about Wella Color charm is the consistency of color because I do not want my hair to look colored. I want it to look natural and when I use it and follow the instructions it always looks good. Thanks Wella !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LOMCK from This works for me! This is the first time I colored my hair. I have always gone to a salon, but now retired and need to reduce expenses. After researching online, I went to the nearest Sally store and I carefully looked at the hair color samples under each of the boxes. I wanted to go darker, but not real dark. Not knowing how the product colors, I decided to go a shade lighter just in case it was too dark. After applying the color in my hair, I only waited 35 minutes since I figured I was slow in getting it on ~ again, not wanting it too dark. I washed it and voila! It's not as dark as I wanted, but I am happier doing this in steps and getting it right rather than going to far and being upset. My hairstylist is the best and she always said we can go darker, but trying to lighten it back is more difficult. I am happy with the result, especially for this being my first time. It will be interesting to see how it lightens up in the next several weeks! Now, can someone tell me how to get the color out of my fingernail?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Judy from Ling lasting most natural looking hair color I have been using this hair color for about 20 years. I find it high quality, easy to apply, and the most natural looking color. My daughter has had color done in salons at a much higher cost. I recently did her hair with wells, and her hair color now is very close to her natural color again. She was amazed

Rated 5 out of 5 by darkbrowntoblonde from I save thousands and my hair is great. After spending way too much money at salons where they were unable to get my very dark chocolate brown hair to come out as a light ash blonde (it was either orange or damaged beyond belief), I now use these products and do it myself. Here is MY process. Practice and experimentation will get you where you need to be. Step 1: Lift (roots or full head) color out with 12AA Nordic Blonde, 1/2 bottle of 050 Violet Additive and 40 developer in a 2:1 ratio. About 45 minutes. Step 2: Tone any remaining orange or brass with T18 and the other half of the bottle of 050 violet additive. 5-25 minutes. This step is needed every time. Step 3. Highlights around face and part line only with 1/4 pkg of Radical bleach kit from Sallys. I only do this part 2x a year. 5- 25 minutes. Step 4. Add shine with a clear color plus 10 or 20 developer. 40 minutes. I only do this step every other time. I use Ion brand developers for sensitive scalps, but I have heard you can add a packet of Sweet n Low to your developer if the developer burns your scalp and it does not change the color but keeps your scalp from burning. This whole process costs me about $30 and these Wella Color Charm Products are AMAZING. Consistent results at home!

Rated 1 out of 5 by karend from too dark Everything I read says developer is always used on a 1:1 ratio with color but Color Charm says 2 parts developer to one part color. I followed the directions and my color is way too dark! I used the cheaper dark ash blonde colors and while they faded way too soon, at least the color was right. Just my luck, I finally find one that is highly recommended for not fading and it's way too dark!! Now I'm back to the drawing board trying to find the right color that will actually last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brooklynn from Very Very Natural Looking Colors "love it" I am a retired hairdresser because I changed professions a long time ago. I was getting my hair done at a high end salon and I got tired of the hairdresser not listening to me. I wanted to be a natural looking light golden blonde. I picked up 8G/841 at Sally and I never went back to my hairdresser. Still the best colors, easy to use and I am so satisfied not sure why I did not just do my own hair in the first place. This product covers the grey wow its amazing. Thanks Wella for a great product!
