BALAYAGE ESSENTIALS

Only two products are needed to do a balayage at home; hair bleach to lighten lengths and a conditioner to keep hair smooth, soft and manageable. Color By You Bleach Primer has you covered, holding both in every box.

STEP 1

MIX THE BLEACH

Before you begin your balayage, prep the Color By You Bleach Primer for flawless highlights. It’s easy; just mix the developer liquid and bleach powder together in a small bowl.
Top tip: Make sure you wear the gloves in the box, and don’t take them off until your balayage is complete.

STEP 2

SECTION AND SWEEP

Beauty school lesson #1: balayage actually means ‘sweeping’ in French, and that’s exactly the motion you should use to apply the Bleach Primer. Start with the lower layers, brushing bleach through the mid-lengths and ends.

STEP 3

FRAME THE FACE

Next, do DIY balayage through the top section of hair, making sure you focus on the face-framing layers for a glowy effect that makes hair and skin look radiant. Blend with fingertips to avoid harsh lines.

STEP 4

WASH AND GLOW

It’s time for your DIY balayage to develop. Inside your Color By You Bleach Primer box, you’ll find instructions on how long to leave it to reach your desired level of lightness. Then, when you’re ready, simply wash, condition and glow, glow, glow with a brand new balayage.
